Welcome to the Vote Palestine Wills Weekly Newsletter
Vote Palestine Wills is a grassroots community alliance working to replace Labor’s Peter Khalil – the Zionist member for Wills – with a representative who will stand up for Palestinian human rights in the Australian parliament.
We are very pleased to announce that Muslim Votes Matter (MVM) has proudly endorsed the Vote Palestine Wills campaign. Muslims in the seat of Wills make up over 10% of the electorate.
“Like the rest of the community in Wills, they are deeply dismayed by the Albanese government’s stance on the ongoing atrocities in Gaza,” MVM wrote in their public statement. “The ‘Vote Palestine Wills’ community-based election campaign reflects a growing movement of people, from all background, reclaiming control over their votes and political choices”.
We look forward to working closely with Muslim Votes Matter to advance our shared goals and make electoral history in Australia’s upcoming federal election.
UPCOMING ACTIONS
This week, we’re taking our message to Wills’ voters in Hadfield, following successful campaigns in Brunswick, Glenroy, Coburg, and North Carlton over the past few weeks, where our dedicated team of volunteers has handed out thousands of flyers.
Our actions are planned for:
- Wednesday 22 Jan (12 – 2pm): Handing out flyers – Cnr West & Middle St, Hadfield
- Saturday 25 Jan (11am – 1pm): Handing out flyers – Cnr West & Middle St, Hadfield
We’d love to see you in Hadfield – no experience is necessary. You can just show up and join us in handing out flyers to the community of Wills!
